Ayers Rock Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Australia

17th to 21st October 2019 – Visiting Uluru (Ayers Rock) in Australia. Uluru Base walk + visiting Kata Tjuta (Olgas) including walking the Valley of the Winds loop and the Walpa Gorge.

Uluru Base walk is around 10km. Can be completed within 3 hours at a leisurely pace. Water stations at Mala Car park and at the opposite end of Uluru. Temperature touched on 40°C while I circumnavigated the rock. Went through about 6 liters of water (About 2 litres for each hour of walking). Similar rate of water consumption while doing the walks in Kata Tjuta.

Probably best to stay around 2-3 nights to get a chance to see both Uluru and Kata Tjuta. The climb up Uluru (Ayers Rock) is permanently closed.

You are required to  purchase a park pass. 25 AUD for 3 days. Accommodation in Yuluru township is very expensive. The cheapest option is the Pioneer Lodge Backpacker bunks which are about 50 AUD per night. After booking, double check confirmation E-mail.
