Friday 7th August 2020 – With work on my back to get my leave balances down… Trip to explore Daly’s Clearing on my day off. Starting from Franklin Road car park, Looped clockwise. Except for a school group returning back, no one else was seen on the track. Weather was Sunny through out most of the walk and only started clouding over and upon the way back to car before turning into rain.

Starting from the southern end of Franklin Road, going clockwise
Whatawheta turning right on to Daly’s clearing than loop back towards Dean Track to do a return spur towards Mangakino Stream.
Return along Dean Track back to car. 5 Hours including meal stops and a snooze at the hut.
